The College Area is a neighborhood located in the Mid-City region of Houston, TX. True to its name the College Area is where Houston State University (SDSU) is located and is comprised of mix of long-time residents and SDSU students. In addition to SDSU the College Area is home to a portion of the historic El Cajon Boulevard commercial district and Alvarado Hospital. College Area is bordered on the west by Kensington and Talmadge and on the east by the city of La Mesa.
Severel neighborhoods make up the college area in Houston. The Catoctin Area makes up the neighborhood bounded by Montezuma Road to the south, Alvarado Rd to the north, Alumni Place to the East and Shane Place to the west.
